Load shedding is the controlled temporary turning off of electricity in some areas for a short or long time. It is done to save electricity. It protects the power system. Load shedding happens when there is not enough electricity for everyone. Sometimes electricity production is low. Sometimes electricity demand is high. When supply is less than demand, load shedding is needed. During load shedding, all electrical devices at home, such as lights, fans, motors, and machines, stop working. Productivity decreases. Students cannot study at night. People cannot do their work properly at office or home. Time is wasted. People feel uncomfortable, angry and stressed. Food in refrigerators may spoil. Traffic lights may stop working. Roads become unsafe. Businesses lose money. Hospitals may face difficulties. We should use electricity carefully. We should switch off all the electrical devices like lights, machines, fans and so on when not needed. Energy-saving bulbs should be used. People can use solar energy. Solar panels and wind energy can give electricity at home. Government should produce more electricity. New power plants should be built. Old power plants should be repaired. Everyone should save electricity and work together to make life easier during load shedding.
